Yang Li Fall 2015/2016

Yang Li is one of those young designers in Paris that always struck me. I always love his combining of perfectly tailored everything and unfinished hems giving his clothes its backbone with a certain vulnerability; and  this skill certainly showed up as an opener to his latest collection for fall.

In the middle half of the collection were dresses and coats made of this sort of crumpled fabric where volume and proportions had been so well executed.

And then the mini top-maxi skirt  ended the show again.

Though there wasn't much a statement piece here like in his previous collections. i thought this was a much mature and very strong collection from him. It had lesser tactics, but offered  hard edge pieces that could stay in your closet for seasons to come.
